LiPo batteries are a great way to power your projects. They’re small, lightweight, and pack a pretty good punch for their size. Unfortunately, even the best batteries eventually run low on power and when they do it’s often unexpected (and at the worst time). Don’t be caught by surprise next time your board suddenly powers-down! The SparkFun LiPo Fuel Gauge connects your battery to your project and uses a sophisticated algorithm to detect relative state of charge and direct A/D measurement of battery voltage. In other words, it tells your microcontroller how much ‘fuel’ is left in the tank. The LiPo Fuel Gauge communicates with your project over I2C and an alert pin also tells you when the charge has dropped below a certain percentage.
Odometers are extremely useful for cars, they tell you how far you have gone, wouldn’t it be nice if you were able to have a device that does the same for electrical current? The LTC4150 SparkFun Coulomb Counter Breakout is here to be your odometer for current. If you are wondering: a coulomb is defind as, to put it simply, one amp for one second. This breakout is capable of constantly monitoring the current your sensor is using, is able to add it up, and will give you a pulse each time a given amount of amp-hours have been used. When used effectively and if you start with a full battery, you’ll always know exactly how much of it is left!

Module description:
This module is based on the principle of a resistor divider design, enabling the terminal interface input voltage reduced five times, Arduino analog input voltage up to 5V, then the input voltage voltage detection module can not be greater than 5V × 5 = 25V (3.3V if used system, the input voltage can not be greater than 3.3Vx5 = 16.5V). Because Arduino AVR chips used in 10 AD, so the analog resolution of this module is 0.00489V (5V / 1023), so the minimum voltage detection module detects input voltage is 0.00489V × 5 = 0.02445V.
